PAGAZZI Lighting was founded in 1980 by Laura Pagan.
Our first store was located in West George Street in Glasgow. It quickly became established as the city’s premier specialist lighting shop, attracting the great, the good and the famous for many years.
From West George Street we moved to a store in Sauchiehall Street. The extra space gave us the space to present a much bigger range of lighting and be more adventurous in our choice of product.
Since then, we have undergone many changes, and have learned a great deal about running a fast-growing retail lighting business leading to a decision to open the following new businesses:

During 2005 we introduced a large range of mirrors and artwork into our stores. These products have proved to very successful with customers and we are now one of the largest independent mirrors and artwork retailers in the UK.
In February 2006 we received a significant financial injection from Ashleybank Investments (ABI), a venture capital company with a special interest in fast-track retail companies; they were also early investors in companies such as Schuh and Dobbies Garden Centres. ABI were also partnered in the investment by the Scottish Enterprise's Co-Investment Fund.
In addition to finance, PAGAZZI Lighting also benefits from the significant hands-on retailing knowledge that remains within ABI and the experience that they have of building the Edinburgh Woollen Mill business into a UK wide retail chain.

Huge In-Store Range
Our retail park stores have circa 3,000 individual decorative lighting products on display and our factory outlet stores have circa 1,000. We believe this is the largest in-store range available in the UK.
The range covers all major decorative lighting styles – Modern, Traditional and Contemporary – and types – ceiling, table, floor, wall, spots and bathroom.
Take It Away Today
Besides having a huge range of decorative lighting on display, we also have a large warehouse in each store. With thousands of lighting products available in stock, you should be able to take 95% of your purchases away with you on the day of your visit.
As the largest specialist lighting retailer in the UK, we can negotiate extremely competitive pricing from our suppliers, and we can make sure that our customers benefit, by passing on the outstanding value to them. Not content with that, we also operate a policy of regularly offering truly exceptional deals whenever we possibly can, such as when we make scoop purchases ourselves, or when we must make room for incoming stock – check out our Promotional Products and judge for yourself.
At up to 80% off, these extraordinary deals are not repeatable. When they are gone, they are gone forever and we recommend you catch them while you can. Promotional Products may be end-of-line designs, special purchases or simply the Pagazzi Showroom Manager creating space for new season ranges. The quality is top class, the value’s even better and these pieces just have to go!
If for any reason we are unable to satisfy your requirements from our vast in-store range, we will be pleased to order goods especially for you from our supplier catalogues.
Delivery times will vary on a product by product and supplier by supplier basis, however, the normal delivery timescale is usually within 2 to 4 weeks.

Personal Shopper Service
In addition to our normal high levels of customer service, if you wish, we will be pleased to offer customers an in-store Personal-Shopper Service.

Late Night Opening
Whilst the opening hours vary from store to store, many of our stores offer late night opening on Thursdays.

Store Refund Policy
Goods returned within 14 days of purchase can be exchanged or refunded (excluding promotional items).
We regret that our goodwill returns policy does not apply to promotional or sale items.
Goods returned after 14 but within 28 days of purchase, can be exchanged against other goods or a credit note will be issued.
After 28 days of purchase no goods can be exchanged or refunded.
Any goods to be refunded or exchanged must be returned with original packaging and receipt.
Our refund policy does not apply to any sale goods that are “sold-as-seen”.
The Lighting Association is the trade body that sets the standards to which the UK lighting industry should operate.
PAGAZZI Lighting is a Retail Member of the Lighting Association and as such, we subscribe and operate our business in accordance with the guidelines set out by them.

The layout of each of our stores has been designed to take into consideration the requirements of customers who either make use of wheelchairs or wish to bring a pram into the store.
Free Car Parking
Most of our stores have hundreds of free car parking spaces available for customers to use. In addition, our staff will be pleased to assist you with carrying your purchases to your car.

Alan Pagan - Chairman
Alan joined Pagazzi in 2002 after a successful 30-year career in the IT Sector.
Alan’s main role is business development, including strategy, funding, store-selection and the recruitment of key personnel into the business.
Alan is also the key driver in the culture-change programme, as the company develops from being a small family lifestyle business into a serious UK retailing chain.
Laura Pagan - Managing Director
With over 30 years in the business, Laura is acknowledged as one of the most experienced lighting buyers in the UK.
During this time Laura has developed an unrivalled ability to predict what lighting products customers want to buy and what price they are prepared to pay for them.
Laura regularly acts as a consultant to many of our suppliers on the commercial attractiveness of their product ranges, as they try and tap into her extensive retail experience.
Rebecca Pagan - Buying Director
Rebecca became Buying and Merchandising Director in March 2017, taking over the role from Laura Pagan.
Rebecca joined the company in 2009 and has worked within various departments across the company ranging from marketing to buying. Rebecca's varied experience has made her a go-to source for Pagazzi knowledge and understanding, positioning Rebecca as a key driving force in the brand's development. Having found her passion in buying, Rebecca applies her knowledge of the brand and its wider business processes to this aspect of the company. In doing so, Rebecca creates holistic and retail-ready product assortments, which perfectly meets the needs of the Pagazzi customer and our stakeholders.
Rebecca was also responsible for the establishment of our transactional website which launched in 2012. In overseeing Pagazzi's website launch, and the wider development of Pagazzi's web presence, Rebecca's 21st-century retailing mindset has proved an invaluable asset in the development of the Pagazzi brand, helping transform Pagazzi from a small family business to an established national retail chain.
Stephen Jones - Retail Operations Director
Stephen joined as Retail Operations Director in 2003 after a successful 10-year career in sportswear retailing at a number of senior levels.
Stephen’s main role is the smooth day-to-day running of the stores, including sales, staffing, visual merchandising, store standards and product replenishment.
Stephen is also responsible for recruiting experienced, skilled, ambitious, career-minded retailers, with a passion for high levels of customer service, into the stores.
Ken Doak - Financial Director
Ken joined the company in 2005 and is a heavy-duty Chartered Accountant of 30 years standing.
Ken takes responsibility for the financial well-being and smooth running of the company, together with executive responsibility for the IT, Health and Safety and HR functions.
Ken’s career is founded in small companies who have grown rapidly to become much bigger ones and as such, his experience is invaluable to PAGAZZI Lighting as it fast-tracks towards becoming a UK retail chain.
Meggan Reid - Stock Integrity Director
Meggan has responsibility for all matters pertaining to Retailing Systems, Stock Accuracy, Customer Orders and Product Merchandising.
It seems as if Meggan has almost grown-up in PAGAZZI Lighting, initially as a part-time sales assistant whilst she was studying Music at Glasgow University, to full-time positions including almost single-handedly opening the first Lighting Superstore at Uddingston, followed by senior roles in almost every other aspect of the business.
In May 2007, Meggan was offered a Directorship in the company and in accepting it, she became one of the youngest Company Directors in the UK retailing sector.
Vince Gunn - Non-executive Director
Vince is one of the most experienced retailers operating in the UK and he has been a Non-Executive Director of PAGAZZI Lighting since August 2004.
With a track-record of fast-track promotions since leaving his native Glasgow, Vince has held senior positions in the following retailing heavyweights:

- Thomson Travel Group - Retail Development Director
- Mothercare - Retail Operations Director
- Blackwell’s UK - Chief Executive Officer
- Crocs Europe - European Managing Director
It is exceptional for a company of our size to have access to someone of Vince’s standing and he provides the company with a great deal of hands-on, real-world retailing advice.
Douglas Needham - Non-executive Director
Douglas, who is the Financial Director of ABI, joined the Board of PAGAZZI Lighting as a Non-Executive Director in February 2006.
With a long and distinguished career in the Scottish textile industry, Douglas is the custodian of the ABI and Scottish Enterprise investment in PAGAZZI Lighting.
In addition, Douglas provides the company with any relevant experience gained through his involvement with other ABI investments and provides access to the significant hands-on retailing knowledge that remains within ABI, from their days of building up the Edinburgh Woollen Mill business.

Many of our lights do not come complete with bulbs, some come with what is known in the industry as 'starter bulbs', designed to help you get set up and to check that there are no electrical faults - you will always know from the product description is these are supplied. We have a single fixed low price delivery cost, so it won't cost you a penny more to get the best bulbs or some replacement bulbs delivered as part of your order.
