How long can candles burn for?
Each candle will have its own burn time and how long this is will depend on the size of the candle. Our stunning range of luxury French Connection candles vary in size with burn times ranging from 37 hours for our 1 wick candles to 62 hours for our 4 wick candles. To prolong the use of your candle, it is advised to only leave them burning when you’re in the space, so you can enjoy the scent at its optimum.
How to care for your candles

If not cared for properly, candles can become discoloured and ‘smoky’ over time. It is recommended to trim the wick of your candle after each, or every few, uses. This prevents the smokiness when you first light it which in time can discolour the candle’s jar. You can buy specialist wick trimming tools which do the job neatly and easily, If the jar does become smoky, you can remove this staining with a slightly damp or soapy paper towel or cloth.
Where should you put candles?
The placement of your candles is not only about aesthetic but safety too. Where you position candles when not burning them may differ to where you have them when lit. When not lit, candles look stylish in all rooms of the home, in spaces such as coffee tables, side tables, dining tables, kitchen islands and even on shelves. When lit, candles should be positioned centrally in a room to evenly distribute the scent and well away from fabrics and electrical items. You should never leave candles burning unattended. When lit, candles should also be positioned in spaces where they won’t be easily knocked, such as higher up or centrally on large tables out of reach.
